Comcast Yearly Price Negotiating
#1
As I've mentioned before, there are only 2 ISPs I can get internet from in my area. As a result, each year I have to cancel my internet because Comcast wants to raise the rates astronomically.

Rather than not make any money off of me, Comcast eventually realizes I'm serious about canceling (just hold your ground, cancel your service, and decline every initial offer they provide). Comcast then presents a better offer as my cancellation date approaches. I was once offered 75MBPS for $49.99 a month. That is a decent deal, so I agreed, and the agent on the phone said she would take care of activating the new service.

At the end of the month, I was charged the normal rate. After complaining to Comcast, they stated they had no record of my conversation with the agent, and that they don't have a 75MBPS speed tier or package. They offered me a new deal for 100MBPS internet for $79.99 a month. Unfortunately I agreed because that was a better price than what I was paying, but still, I should have received the 75MBPS package I agreed to over the phone.

I got screwed out of a better deal. This happens quite frequently to a lot of people.

Always record your phone conversations with companies. They will lie and get away with it if you don't.
