True Friends are Hard to Find - frogman - 11-17-2017
I've found often in my life that true friends are very hard to find. Even when you think you've found a true friend, you can often be proven wrong at the worst possible time. Genuine people are becoming rarer and rarer in my opinion. I seek people that do what they say and treat others the way they want to be treated. It's hard to find people that follow through with what they say and do on a consistent basis. I'd like to find more people whose company enhances my life, but usually I just find acquaintances that occasionally enhance my life but usually upset me.
As humans, we all like to talk about ourselves, but in reality, to have a good friendship, you should be able to talk about more than just yourself. As in every relationship, it should be about 50/50. That is talking about yourself while still relating to others and not just blowing off what others have to say even when you may not agree with what is being said.
Life isn't all happiness either. There's pain and sadness, and being able to talk about these issues with someone truly makes a difference if the other person is willing to listen.
Friendship is more than the number of "friends" you have on Facebook. It's about real relationships that have some kind of meaning and impact on your life. And to find people like that... is very hard, but I'll still keep trying because it's somewhat worth it.
